Sweet Sicily Reviews
This was my second time here and every time I'm here I have amazing food and service. While I've only been here for dessert and drinks, I'll definitely be back for dinner. This time some friends got espresso martinis- they were perfectly chilled and more coffee verses frothy--- this was excellent. I ordered the panne cotta (it tastes like an amazing whipped cream meets jello). Can't wait to come back and try more!
Lucky to find parking when we arrived on a Saturday at 8 pm. We got seated at a corner table after checking in with our reservation. This side of the restaurant had a faux brick wall with a case adorned with Italian bric-a-brac. They have quite a display of sweets by the entrance, so I kind of got a peek of what my dessert was going to be. It's just the right atmosphere for great photos. For cocktails, we ordered Aperol Spritzes and a Lemon Drop. Our dinner consisted of the spicy Diavola Pizza, Spaghetti al Nero (squid ink pasta), Carbonara and my tender Ossobuco (braised veal). Being full after dinner, we opted to share a Hazelnut Gelato and Cannoncino (puff pastry) for dessert. F&D was great. Service was excellent. We'd like to come back when we're in the Silicon Valley.
Ambiance: The inside is nice (a little stuffy if the fan is not on in the summer). The outside is very nice if you get a table. Service: The staff and owners are so amazing - they make us feel at home. Cinzia and Sal (owners) take the time to talk to their customers. Victor and Manuel (staff) are so amazing. They always come and say hi and take care of our every need. Victor recalls us and makes sure we get what we need. Food: We go here a lot and the most recent time we had the four of us and one of my sons's friends and we ordered the following: - Penne Excelsior- if you are in the mood for a nice and unique alternative to the simple and bland bolognese then order this. My favorite (I get it with Spaghetti) - Burrata pizza - my wife loved this dish. The ingredients were so fresh and the dish was so tasty. - Tortellini - my 7 year old ordered this and loved it and I tried it and it was awesome. - Cheese pizza - simple dish yet delightful - Chicken parm- my 13 year old who is a picky eater ordered this and he said it was "delicious" All in all I would say if you go to this restaurant you will love it and you will come back for the deserts which are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
What a great find this was, thanks to Yelp. I met two friends at the restaurant for lunch and had a lovely time. Service was extremely friendly, which was greatly appreciated, and our server Victor was very good We had the Caponata, the focaccia chicken sandwich and a Sweet Sicily pizza. Each of the items was fresh and delicious. The amount of chicken on the very reasonably priced sandwich was impressive, and it was tender and nicely seasoned. The pizza with blue cheese and bacon was excellent - freshly made crust, crisp bacon (essential), smoked mozzarella and spinach, too. I will definitely be back but hopefully next time I will leave the receipts with my tip on them instead of taking that all with me! (I did call the restaurant to let them know that!) Also, the all gender bathroom on the men's side had no lock on it. That is a 2 on the scale of 5 stars.
Only Italian restaurant within a 5 mile radius of me that closes a little later. It's a cute spot. Food is pretty good, but I definitely think there needs to be more basil on the Margarita Pizza. Service was decent as well.
